Privacy Policy

Local Lead Tree is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and the rights you have.

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Who we are

Local Lead Tree introduces people who want a quote for a local trade to a trade partner who can provide that quote. For the personal data in this policy, Local Lead Tree is the data controller.

We handle personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK regulator for data protection.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote, we collect the details needed to pass that request to a suitable trade partner:

  • your name
  • your phone number
  • your postcode
  • the trade service you have requested
  • any other detail you choose to give us about the job

When you apply to work with us as a trade partner through the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the message you send. That message may include your trade and the postcodes you cover.

Our host also processes limited technical data, such as an IP address and browser type, in security logs that keep the site available and protect it from abuse. We do not ask you to send special category data, such as information about health, and we ask you not to include it.

Why we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • pass a quote request to a trade partner who covers the relevant trade and area
  • reply to trade partner applications
  • keep a record of the introduction, including any query or complaint about it
  • protect the website and prevent misuse

We rely on these lawful bases under Article 6 of the UK GDPR:

  • Legitimate interests. Matching the quote you asked for with a suitable trade partner, answering partner applications, and keeping the service secure. Our interest is running an exclusive introduction service. You can object to this use. We will stop unless we have a compelling reason that overrides your interests, rights and freedoms, or we need the data to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
  • Consent. Where you submit an enquiry and agree to this policy and our terms, and for any contact that is not required to deliver the quote or reply you asked for. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@localleadtree.co.uk. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew consent.

Who we share data with

We share a consumer’s name, phone number, postcode and requested trade only with the trade partner needed to provide the quote that person asked for.

We do not sell, rent or resell consumer personal data. We do not pass those details to anyone for their own marketing, and we do not place the same enquiry on a shared lead list outside the quote that was requested.

Trade partners must use those details only to quote for the requested service and, if the customer agrees, to carry out that work. They must not resell, share or recycle the data.

We also use service providers who process data on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts this website and protects it from abuse
  • Formspree, which receives the trade partner contact form on this website so we can read and reply to it

We may disclose personal data if the law requires it, or where we need to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use a lawful safeguard such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

We keep consumer quote details only for as long as we need them to complete the introduction and deal with any query about it. We delete or anonymise them within 24 months of the enquiry, unless the law requires us to keep them for longer.

We keep trade partner records for the life of the working relationship and for up to six years after it ends, so we can meet tax and contract duties under the laws of England and Wales.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and in line with ICO guidance, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access)
  • correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • erase your data, where the law allows it
  • restrict how we use your data
  • provide data you gave us in a portable format, where that right applies
  • stop processing based on legitimate interests, by objecting to it

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email privacy@localleadtree.co.uk. We respond within one calendar month. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we release or change data.

You can complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we handle your data: ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113. Please contact us first so we can try to put things right.

Cookies

This website uses only essential cookies and similar technologies that are required for the pages to load and for security. That includes cookies our host may set to protect the site from abuse. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use optional analytics cookies.

Essential cookies are exempt from the consent requirement in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Because we do not set non-essential cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner.

Children

This service is for adults arranging home services and for trade businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email privacy@localleadtree.co.uk and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
